Celebrating Women’s History Month: Spotlight on Elizabeth Levine

In celebration of Women’s History Month, Buttaci Leardi & Werner is delighted to showcase the inspiration, philosophies, and expertise of our women attorneys and professional leaders – all of whom are instrumental in elevating our firm and its client service.

What led you to the practice of law and/or to your specific area of law?

After eight years of practicing dentistry, I was unsure of the direction I wanted to take with my career. I felt that I needed a new challenge. I have always been interested in the law and loved the academic experience, so law school seemed a somewhat natural progression. The practice of healthcare law appealed to me because I was – and am – very interested in healthcare as an industry and in aiding healthcare providers. This area of study allowed me to combine these two interests, as well as add in the perspective gained from my “first career!”

What advice (professional or personal) would you give your younger self or the next generation of women attorneys/business leaders?

It’s never too late to reinvent yourself or your career. What’s important to remember during a pivot: you’re not starting from square one. You’re starting from a place of experience that oftentimes can accelerate your progression in that new adventure. You’ll never regret betting on yourself!
