Celebrating Women’s History Month: Spotlight on Jennifer Villa

In celebration of Women’s History Month, Buttaci Leardi & Werner is delighted to showcase the inspiration, philosophies, and expertise of our women attorneys and professional leaders – all of whom are instrumental in elevating our firm and its client service.

What woman in the firm or the business community inspires you and why?

The woman who inspires me the most I would say are all working moms. As a working mom, I know the struggle of balancing work/home life – making sure you are still around for your kids while also contributing to your job. Luckily, I work for great people who set an expectation of being present for both your job and your family as part of the firm culture – and allow the flexibility to be successful in both areas.

What led you to the practice of law and/or to your specific area of law?

I never saw myself working for a law firm. I interviewed here 16 years ago for a secretarial position, and now I am the Firm Administrator. I have grown to love the industry I’m in and am confident that I am in the role that’s perfect for me. I love helping this firm run smoothly every day!

What advice (professional or personal) would you give your younger self or the next generation of women attorneys/business leaders?

Things I would tell my younger self would be “Always be confident in yourself and do not be afraid to make mistakes.”
