Litigator Christopher B. Bladel Joins Buttaci Leardi & Werner LLC

Buttaci Leardi & Werner LLC is pleased to announce that Christopher B. Bladel has joined the firm as an attorney in the Provider Reimbursement Disputes, False Claims & Regulatory Defense, and Outside General Counsel Services practice areas.

Bladel joined Buttaci Leardi & Werner after more than a decade of litigation experience involving high-value cases handled in an expedited manner in New Jersey and New York, primarily in the areas of insurance fraud and consumer fraud actions. In his early career, Bladel defended claims against life and disability insurers in addition to third-party administrators for benefits under group employee welfare benefit plans brought under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (“ERISA”).

“We’re delighted to welcome Chris to the firm,” said John W. Leardi, a Member at Buttaci Leardi & Werner. “His substantial experience in the areas of ERISA benefit disputes and insurance fraud litigation will be a tremendous asset to clients. More importantly, Chris is a perfect culture fit. His depth of experience speaks for itself, but he also brings an engaging and intellectually inquisitive personality, a receptiveness to our focus on internal collaboration, and an understanding that dispute resolution strategy must always begin with the client’s end goals in mind.”

During that time he also litigated claims brought under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (“RICO”), the New Jersey Insurance Fraud Prevention Act (“IFPA”), and the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act. Prior to entering private practice, Bladel served as a clerk to the Hon. Harried Derman, J.S.C (ret.), Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division for Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren counties.

Bladel earned his J.D. from Rutgers School of Law and his B.A., summa cum laude, Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, Rutgers College General Honors Program. He is admitted to the New Jersey and New York bars, as well as the United States District Court, District of New Jersey, United States District Court, Southern District of New York, and the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Health Law Section.
