Paul Werner Quoted in Part B News on Trump’s Picks for Health-Related Posts

As part of its annual coverage predicting the top healthcare topics for the year ahead, Part B News quoted Buttaci, Leardi & Werner member Paul Werner in an article titled “Incoming HHS Management Will Not Change Much – Except on Culture War Issues.”

The article, published December 19, 2024, discusses the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. for secretary of Health & Human Services. The article states that Kennedy has no direct experience with the healthcare bureaucracy, except as a decidedly hostile critic.

The editors go on to write that Kennedy has promoted the debunked claim that vaccines cause autism, stated that COVID-19 was engineered as a bioweapon “to attack Caucasians and Black people” and that fluoride in drinking water is harmful and should be removed.

Two other Trump appointees for health-related posts have been critical of the COVID vaccine mandates.

Werner says, “I don’t put too much stock in the ability of any one person in any one position to effectuate sweeping changes.”
