Vincent N. Buttaci and John W. Leardi Presenting at 2023 NJ Independent Pharmacy Town Hall to GSPO and SaveNJRX.org on New Jersey’s Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBM) Transparency Bill Package
Health care attorneys John W. Leardi and Vincent N. Buttaci of the health law boutique Buttaci Leardi & Werner are speaking on August 16 at the 2023 NJ Independent Pharmacy Town Hall sponsored by the Garden State Pharmacy Owners in affiliation with SaveNJRX.org. Leardi and Buttaci are presenting an Analysis of the NJ PBN Reform Package, as well as a comparison to similar legislation in New York and Florida. Attendees can earn .5 Law CPE.
Leardi and Buttaci will examine the details of New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy’s package of three bills that will 1) require greater transparency on prescription drug pricing, 2) institute more oversight via a state board over pharmacy benefits managers and other groups that negotiate in the health care marketplace, and 3) impose caps on out-of-pocket expenses for medications needed to manage some chronic conditions including insulin, epinephrine injectors, and asthma inhalers. The law was signed on July 10, 2023 and takes effect in 18 months.
