As a licensed dentist who practiced for eight years before pursuing a legal career, Dr. Elizabeth A. Levine brings a unique perspective to her work on behalf of healthcare clients and medical professionals.

Elizabeth maintains her New Jersey Dental license, and her viewpoint on business and legal concerns of her clients is grounded in her own experiential knowledge and her astute understanding of the state and federal laws that impact medical professionals.

Elizabeth joined Buttaci Leardi & Werner first as a summer associate and then full time as an attorney at the firm, where she focuses on Facility Licensing and Business Transactions.

In the Facility Licensing practice, Elizabeth represents outpatient substance use disorder treatment facilities, outpatient mental health facilities, integrated healthcare facilities, and residential substance use disorder treatment facilities. She provides counsel to these facilities in all matters of licensure, contracting, and accreditation.

In the Business Transactions practice, Elizabeth represents providers, group practices, and licensed facilities in both transactional and regulatory matters, including corporate transactions and contracts, and the organization, licensure, acquisition, and sale of healthcare practices and facilities.

Clients relate not only to Elizabeth’s extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry and the often complex regulatory and compliance obligations, but also her years of experience as a practicing dentist who understands firsthand the operational issues and insurance matters that regularly arise in medical and dental practices.

During law school, Elizabeth served as a legal extern at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey and as a student advocate at Seton Hall’s Health Law Clinic where she assisted veterans in disability and healthcare-related matters. Additionally, she served as a judicial extern in New Jersey Superior Court to the Honorable Robert Jones. She continued to practice dentistry in Rahway, NJ through most of her time at Seton Hall.

Outside of the office, Elizabeth is passionate about horses. An accomplished equestrian, she works with off-track thoroughbreds and helps retired racehorses find new careers. As an avid fan of thoroughbred horseracing, she enjoys traveling to tracks around the country. She has been a member of Monmouth Park Racetrack’s Finish Line Welcome Center Staff for many years and rarely misses an opportunity to enjoy the races.
